The Tina Skukan Gallery will be hosting its first exhibition of the year
titled
The Joy of Art
An exhibition of paintings and ceramic work by
Ampofo-Anti, Kerstin Franck, Marian Damerell, Nasina Nash,
Nellien Brewer, Philip Badenhorst, Stephi Joubert

The joy that art brings can’t be explained, only experienced.
Science unsuccessfully attempts to define the artist’s impulse to search for meaning, where there is none to be found.
“The heart has its reasons which reason knows nothing of…….We know the truth not only by the reason, but by the heart” – Blaise Pascal

When a person views a beautiful artwork, there is an instantaneous release of dopamine, a chemical substance that is linked to feelings of love, into the brain.
It’s no secret that art has the power to bring us joy – and there is no reason why this should be confined to the walls of galleries or museums.
ART IS MAGIC!
Art generates happiness for both, consumer and creator.
Art is a stress reliever, a tool for self-care and healing.
“I need the enchantment of creative work to help me forget life’s mean pettinesses” – Søren Kierkegaard
ART IS JOY!

The exhibition will be opened on Sunday 29 January 2023 at 11h30 – 14h00
and will conclude on Thursday 23 February 2023
